Birte is a lawyer and criminologist with specialization in international human rights, humanitarian and refugee law, with extensive work experience in advocacy and resource development. Among her previous positions, Birte worked as researcher and lecturer of the Freie Universität Berlin, Director of International Relations and Advocacy for Yesh Din, Partnerships Coordinator for the Human Rights Defenders Fund and Advocacy Coordinator for Action Against Hunger. Birte lived and worked in Berlin, London, The Hague, Brussels, Jerusalem, and is currently stationed in Tel Aviv.
